Now that you have taken the perfect photos of your family pets, why not share them with friends and family? Making cards can provide you with an affordable way to spread holiday cheer, so why not put those images to good use? Upload your favorite images to the computer and you can create original, one-of-a-kind cards to send this holiday! Sending personalized greetings is a great way to show that you care enough to create your own design and personal messages. And it becomes a collectible not to be thrown away with all the post-holiday wrappings. The cost of store-bought cards can be quite expensive. Personally created cards are so popular now, you can go to most department stores, or pharmacies and create them there, or rather than leave your house, you can have them created by many different websites on your computer.
Here are just a few of my favorite sites you can go to:
While each of these sites may have different styles available, the uploading of images and payments terms are pretty much the same.
You will need to register your name and information on the site of your choice, creating a personal password. You will then want to browse the cards supplied. Some of them are 4×6″ or 5×7″ and you can choose a tall version or wide depending on the photo you have selected. In order to choose some of these cards and images, some of these sites require a small software download and give easy instructions for you to follow. Once you have done this, you can upload the photo of your choice, by following the simple directions offered by each site. There are a number of borders, backgrounds, clip art selections, as well as sheens offered on these sites as well. Some of these sites offer matted, satin, and gloss to choose from. You can often choose the font and text colors as well. Some of these sites are so comprehensive in their offerings, it can take a while to browse through them all. I think this is what makes card creation so much fun. A message on the card can make it even more personalized and these sites give you the opportunity to choose your own, or one they offer. For an additional fee, Shutterfly allows you to personalize each card and will also mail them to you.
After your photo is uploaded and you choose a card, the websites will insert your photo into the card for a preview. If you don’t like it, you have the freedom to choose another card. Some companies allow you to choose the color of your envelopes and others will even print a return address on them for you.
Once you have made your final selections, you can choose how many cards you wish to purchase and make your payment. You will have to pay shipping fees associated with your purchase, but Walmart, which is substantially cheaper, will allow you to even order online and pick up your cards at the nearest location, saving you the shipping fees.
Choice of cards and affordability are essentially the two things to be most concerned with. It’s really easy to make and create your own cards and we have enjoyed doing this for many years now. Our friends and family look forward to receiving our holiday cards as we always feature our pets in a different themed photo each year. So get out the cameras, start taking photos and make your holiday cards creative and fun for all to see!
